A partial list of the tasks to be done include:
• To keep track of receipts and expenditures, petty cash and
advances to producers.
• To write cheques, send out invoices, and pay money into bank.
• To balance the bank statements.
• To handle investments (or at least move money into interest
bearing accounts).
• To deal with financial mail (payments and bills).
• To pay Royalties.
• To keep track of GST, apply for refunds every six months.
• To issue charitable receipts for donations and submit returns
annually.
• To run an accounting program, sorting the above into useful
categories.
• To generate financial statements, cash flow records, and other
documents. Present them to board and to AGM as
required.
• To provide financial documents and forecasts, required by
various bodies, including GST, Charities Directorate,
City of
Ottawa, and others.
Director, Plays
Director, Plays is responsible for forming the committee
that
recommends the plays and directors for each season to the Board
of Directors of Kanata Theatre.
Responsibilities include:
• To form a committee. Size of committee is generally not less
than 3 and not more than 12 Kanata Theatre members.
• To Arrange and book meetings of the committee on a regular
basis.
• To Chair/facilitate each meeting.
• To determine the selection guidelines and process.
• To acquaint each committee member with the selection
guidelines and process.
• To maintain an up-to-date listing of which committee member
has which play.
• To maintain the Kanata Theatre script library located in the
costume room.
• To attend Kanata Theatre Board meetings and report on
committee progress.
