The Board of Directors must provide leadership and
make policy
decisions affecting the general membership for the good of Kanata
Theatre. They are elected to their positions (except Immediate
Past President) as set out in the By-law Section 8.
President
Responsibilities include:
• To convene board meetings as required throughout the
year,
prepare the agendas and circulate them to the
members.
• To chair the Annual general meeting (1st Sunday in June
following the last major production) and the
General meeting
in September (the first Sunday after Labour Day)
and to
prepare those agendas.
• To LISTEN and RESPOND to all suggestions and complaints
from members and patrons alike, and to direct
people to the
appropriate person or persons who can best deal
with these
situations.
• To prepare and submit an article to Greasepaint each
month
so that all members are informed of upcoming events and
what the board is doing.
• A short message may be written for inclusion in each
play’s
program. Contact the program editor at least three
weeks prior
to each show.
• To be aware of KT meetings and generally what is going on
in the theatre.
• To maintain involvement with the Ottawa Community
Theatre Groups and to share complimentary tickets with
board members.
• To respond to all correspondence and invitations addressed
to Kanata Theatre.
• To co-sign cheques presented by the treasurer.
• To be a representative of Kanata Theatre where required.
Vice-President
The Vice-President’s duties are not onerous. They include:
• To chair Board and General meetings when the President is
unavailable.
• To co-sign cheques when the President is unavailable.
