Felix Unger, the neat freak, has been kicked out of his house by his wife. Oscar Madison, the disorganized free spirit, is enjoying a bachelor’s life. Oscar feels sorry for his friend and reluctantly takes Felix in, but as their polar opposite personlities quickly clash and the arrangement becomes unmanageable, the friendship frays at the ends.
