JIM HOLMES (Director) has directed more than 25 productions for Kanata Theatre including A Flea in Her Ear, The Taming of the Shrew, The Underpants (Capital Critics Circle Award Best Director, Community Theatre), The Seagull (CCC Award Best Community Theatre Production, nomination Best Director), You’ll Get Used To It!-The War Show, and many more. His acting credits include Brady in last year’s Inherit the Wind (CCC nomination-Best Performance, Community Theatre).

JIM HOLMES (Brady) last appeared on stage in 2009 as Nunzio in Over the River and Through the Woods, for which he was named Best Actor in a Supporting Role at both the EODL and Theatre Ontario Festivals. Other roles include Higgins in Pygmalion, Tobias in A Delicate Balance, and Father Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa. He has directed 25 productions for Kanata Theatre including A Flea in Her Ear (CCC Nomination: Best Director, Community Theatre), and the award-winning productions of The Underpants and The Seagull.

JIM HOLMES (director) has directed more than 20 plays for Kanata Theatre including Staff Room, You'll Get Used To It! -The War Show, Rock and Roll, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jacques Brel Is Alive & Well & Living in Paris, The Madwoman of Chaillot, A Doll's House and As You Like It. He was named Best Actor in a Supporting Role at both the Eastern Ontario Drama League and Theatre Ontario Festivals in 2004 for his portrayal of Nunzio in Over the River and Through the Woods. He last appeared on stage as Father Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa.

His acting roles for Kanata Theatre include Father Jack in last seasons Dancing at Lughnasa, Martin Vanderhoff in You Cant Take It With You, Higgins in Pygmalion, Tobias in A Delicate Balance, Elwood in Harvey and Nunzio in Over the River and Through the Woods for which he was named Best Actor in a Supporting Role at both the Eastern Ontario Drama League and Theatre Ontario Festivals in 2004.

JIM HOLMES (Martin Vanderhof) last appeared as Friar Francis in Much Ado About Nothing. Other Kanata Theatre roles include Higgins in Pygmalion, Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor, Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, Dr Bonfant in Waltz of the Toreadors and Tobias in A Delicate Balance. He has directed many productions for Kanata Theatre including last season's A Midsummer Night's Dream and an earlier production of You Can't Take It With You.

Jim is thrilled to be working for a third time with Larraine Gorman on a musical production. The others were Jacques Brel Is Alive & Well & Living in Paris and last year's Rock and Roll. He has directed 20 productions for Kanata Theatre including Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Others include The Madwoman of Chaillot, A Doll's House, Crimes of the Heart, Noises Off, and Charley's Aunt. For the Studio Opera Guild he directed Mozart's opera The Impressario. His acting roles for Kanata Theatre include Higgins in Pygmalion, Jaques in As You Like It, Elwood in Harvey and Numzio in last year's production of Over the River and Through the Woods for which he was named Best Supporting Actor at both the Easter Ontario Drama League and the Theatre Ontario festivals. He trained at the Banff School of Fine Arts.
